Happy new year!
People often ask me what motivates me? what makes me happy? What makes me feel alive? Aside from my family; for me true happiness can be found in my work, my football and my people. When all three come together it becomes something quite spectacular. Yesterday was one of those days!
I am lucky through my work to be in a position to have lots of great friends from all over the world that are kind enough to help and support the charity work I do here in Sal. They bring over much needed supplies of clothing, shoes, stationary, toiletries and the beloved football apparel for our youngsters to enjoy the national sport. Yesterday myself, V and a few other friends put together a football event in Santa Maria. We invited local kids to join us for a few friendly matches, incredibly over 50 turned up. This was an opportunity for us to try out the new VAR system, it worked very well, much to the amusement of the kids. We then took time to distribute the amazing donations our lovely supporters and friends have been bringing over. To say the kids were overjoyed was an understatement, football kits, boots, shin pads, clothing, stationary it was overwhelming for us adults never mind the kids. A big shout out and thank you to all the lovely people that donate throughout the year, without your support none of this would be possible.
