Awaiting official association number.
My passion for Sal and the islands that make up Cape Verde shine through in the work I do and the people that work along side me. It has always been my goal to set up a business that would bring people together, collectively we can make a difference.
I have spent the last 20 years helping those in need on the islands of Sal, São Vicente, São Nicolau and Santo Antão.
My charity work begin very small with a need to show the reality of life in Cape Verde. I was the first tour guide to show what life was really like away from the shiny resort hotels. Once tourists started to see how some local people were living, they wanted to help. For many years tourists would bring donations of clothing, stationary, toys and toiletries; all of which are imported and expensive. I spent my days off finding out who was in the most need and distributing the donations. This continued for many years until Covid hit and I knew I had to do something more. I started off with a friend creating a very successful go fund me page, we raised
During Covid this became an official registered charity – Cape Verde in Need.
As chairman and founder, I was fortunate to spend a lot of time talking to a variety of my fellow Cape Verdeans, discovering how difficult life can be.
I am also a fifa registered football coach and spend a lot of time with the children hearing of their daily struggles. I also work with various football academies seeing all the fantastic work they do supporting the most vulnerable do within our communities.
My time in the schools has been inspirational, seeing how hard the teachers work to provide a good education for our children has been humbling.
I am taking these experiences and knowledge with me onto my next venture.
GUS-CV
I will be working with some inspiring Cape Verdeans from a variety of walks of life, living in different communities across four islands of Sal, São Vicente SN and SA. GUS-CV is an association registered in Cape Verde, managed and run by Cape Verdeans. We are really going to drill down and focus on improving lives long term. I am no longer satisfied helping ease some of the daily problems people face on a superficial level. I want to make a difference and improve the future for our children through education, social inclusion and mental well being through sport.

Every one of us as human’s have something to offer each other. The people of Cape Verde may not be the wealthiest in pocket but they definitely have the warmest of hearts. We welcome every single person to our home lands to experience the beauty of our people and islands.
